Internal Parasites

It is very common for cats and dogs to become infected with parasites at some point in their life. If left untreated, some infestations can become life threatening. This is why year round parasite control is important. Your pet's monthly heartworm preventative does much more than prevent heartworms, it treats and prevents roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms which are all prevalent throughout the entire year. It is important to understand the parasite lifecycle and how each parasite is transmitted to your pet. And don't forget, cats get heartworm disease too!

External Parasites

External parasites can also cause havoc for your pet. Fleas, ticks, biting flies, mosquitoes, and others can all cause your pet to be itchy, painful, and potentially result in more serious illnesses (such has mosquitoes transmitting heartworms, or ticks passing on Lyme and other diseases). These parasites are active when the temperature is above freezing, and many can live happy lives in your home even on the coldest days. External parasite prevention is highly recommended year round and using a product that takes care of not only fleas, but ticks, mosquitoes and other biting insects will help your pet feel their best.
